Privacy Policy
Shopping Note (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is developed by Sugar Apple. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information stored on your device
The App works offline. Your shopping lists, notes, items, quantities, units and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not create user accounts and we do not upload or have access to this content.
2. Information collected automatically
We use third-party services that may collect limited technical information automatically:
- Firebase Analytics (Google): app usage events (for example screens viewed, features used), device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate location (country/region derived from IP address) and an app-instance identifier.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google): crash reports and diagnostic data, such as device model, OS version and app state at the time of a crash.
- Firebase Remote Config (Google): retrieves configuration values to adjust app behavior. It may use an app-instance identifier.
- Google AdMob (Google): shows advertisements. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), IP address and device information to deliver and measure ads, and to personalize ads where permitted.
- In-app purchases (Google Play Billing / Apple App Store): the one-time purchase is processed by Google or Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only purchase status information (for example, whether the ad-free upgrade has been purchased) so that the feature can be unlocked and restored.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
3. How we use information
- To operate, maintain and improve the App.
- To detect and fix crashes and errors.
- To understand feature usage and improve the user experience.
- To display advertisements and support the App’s development.
- To process and restore purchases.
4. Advertising and your choices
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in Settings > Google > Ads.
- On iOS, you can limit ad tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and manage ad personalization in Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), we show a consent form and you can change your choice at any time.
- You can remove ads by purchasing the ad-free upgrade, if available in your region.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above (Google / Firebase / AdMob, Apple, Google Play), which process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Firebase Privacy and Security: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google AdMob / Ads policies: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
- Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
We may also disclose information if required by law.
6. Data retention and deletion
Local data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google according to its retention settings. Because we do not hold account data, we cannot identify you from the data we receive; to request deletion of data associated with your advertising ID or app-instance ID, contact us at the email below.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Data security
Your lists are stored locally on your device and protected by your device’s security. Data sent to third-party services is transmitted over secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. International transfers
Third-party providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, or to object to its processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
